A legacy of medical milestones has attracted patients from around the world to Methodist for more than 80 years. In 1996, The Methodist Hospital corporation was established to extend health services beyond the Texas Medical Center and into communities throughout Houston. Its international physician referral network -- with information centers in Guatemala City and Mexico City and affiliations with hospitals spanning four continents -- has extended the Methodist reach into the world community as well.
The Methodist Hospital, one of only a handful in Texas recognized by The Best Hospitals in America, is among the country's largest non-profit health-care providers. Its medical staff, meanwhile, include dozens of physicians listed in The Best Doctors in America.
Designed to anticipate the future of medicine and health care delivery, Methodist’s community hospitals offer the quality, convenience and service that the community has grown to expect from Methodist in a close to home, community hospital setting. The concept was introduced in 1998 with the opening of Methodist Sugar Land Hospital, a unique mix of diagnostic and therapeutic services that emphasize outpatient treatment, labor and delivery and when needed, inpatient care. A second facility, Methodist Willowbrook Hospital opened in December 2000.
Regardless of the treatment you seek, Methodist's mission remains the same: to provide the best care and service in a spiritual environment.
